The piece is weighed and tested on the gold testing machine in front of you.

Pay, and check the report
Pay in the shop. Your purity report has a QR code you can scan, now or years later.
What gets recorded
The test is written down, not just spoken.
Gold testing machines (often called the “computer test”, or XRF) read the metal without cutting or damaging the jewellery. The shop records the result on a purity report:
- Gold, silver and copper percentages
- Gross weight and net gold weight
- The karat the reading points to
- A photo of the piece, and the customer's name
- A second staff member confirms the test on expensive pieces
Once issued, a report cannot be edited. If something needs correcting, the shop issues a replacement and the old report says so.

The QR code opens the original record on verify.kompasmove.com. Compare it with your paper: the readings, the weight and the photo should match.
